This class will highlight mushroom identification. Although we love getting out in the woods, this class will not have any field time. We will bring some mushrooms for identification, but we would really like to see what you have found in your local forests and other habitats. Bring previously collected mushrooms to this Sunday afternoon class and learn about the fungi you can find in your own backyard. See our “tips for collecting” below to make sure you have the highest chance of getting an ID. This class is $10 per person.

Cut or pull the mushroom from the base (doesn’t matter which method you use!)

Keep the spines or gills intact if possible

Bring them in a paper bag, cardboard box, or open container. (Sealed plastic will make a mushroom rot faster)

Remember where you pulled it from! (Live or dead tree, ground, bug ect)

You only need 1-2 of the same type of mushroom for an ID.
